Yea, it totally sucks Matthew. One bright spot this year, is that Center Ice is now repeating games all night after they first air. So, you can stay up till 2am to watch your Wings. ;-)

I just experienced this awful problem. We bought a Tivo HD after having a Tivo Series 2 for 3 years. Bought the lifetime service for the HD unit right away. And why shouldn't we? We have been happy with Tivo for years.

Until tonight when I tried to record the Red Wings vs Oilers game. I have watched almost every Wings game for 4 years in a row. I went through the pain of dealing with Time Warner to install a multistream cable card and everything works... except for this ridiculous copy protection.

The big problem I have is that the DRM wants to delete the game an hour after it has finished live airing. This is unacceptable!! I rarely watch the games live because I have a very busy schedule. If I cannot save the games until the next day, or a few days later, I will not be watching... and I will no longer be a Tivo subscriber.

Tivo is getting a phone call tomorrow from a very unhappy customer that just gave them $300 of hard earned money.

Biggest problem is that you need to have domain *name* for Fever to run on - it's not enough to run it on a computer and access via its IP address. As far as I can tell this is an anti-piracy tactic. Surely there must be better alternatives than this. Further to this - two emails to the author have gone unread in over 2 week. I'll certainly be keeping my $30 and not dealing with this developer. Ever.

I meant to include this- the health issues associated w/partially-hydrogenated oils are not limited to interference with prostaglandin production. They are associated with increased risk of heart disease, also diabetes and cancer.

Dear Jennerator,

The problem is not that Hershey's has replaced cocoa butter with vegetable oil. The problem is with using partially-hydrogenated vegetable oils.

To create partially-hydrogenated oils, hydrogen is forced into regular vegetable oil at high pressure. This increases the stability of the oil, making it solid at room temperature and increasing the shelf-life. Partially-hydrogenated oils occur only in very small quantities in nature, and there are indications that metabolism of these fats in the human body interferes with the production of prostaglandins

Denmark and Switzerland have effectively banned partially-hydrogenated oils, and other countries are quickly following suit.

Here is a link that describes the differences between saturated, unsaturated, partially-hydrogenated, and fully hydrogenated oils.

http://www.natural-health-information-centre.com/trans-fats.html

It may seem like a lot of fuss to be making about vegetable oil, there is more to it than meets the eye- it can be pretty confusing...

Re: Navigation as framesets. I agree this is a good implementation of a static nav bar - but I wonder if that's more a fact that screen-resolution has made it more viable. Back in 1996, I wasn't willing to give up even 100 pixels to a fixed nav bar on a 800x600 (or, gasp, a 640x480) screen. Today, with average monitor heights in the thousands of pixels, 100 pixels is a much easier sell.

Congratulations! I looked really hard for that painting - becuase I wanted to buy it. I was visiting Boston and was surprized to see a very LA view in a Boston paper. Hope you make a Giclee available for the rest of us.
Let me know. Its really a great piece.
